Final Push To Achieve MDGs And Create Sustainable Post-2015 Development Agenda 8

As we race to the UN 69th General Assembly, September 2014 where Interim Results of the discussions, online engagement and research inputs summarised into a Global Report will be presented to Member States, as well as the Public, in form of a High Level side event, it is our hope that the Global Report will better address realities of over 100 Million Poor Nigerians, over 300 Million Poor Africans and over 2 Billion Poor Worldwide.

We urge World Leaders to access the good ideas and pertinent suggestions being generated in ongoing PenState Geodesign Massive Open Online Course, MOOC, particularly those on its Discussion Forum Thread focused on Geodesign How Questions; Thread focused on Human Impact; Thread focused on GIS Technology and Thread focused on Human Security. Please find below recent Post on the Human Security Thread contents of which are self explanatory:-

4 Quotations

1
NEPAD embraces every aspect of our life – political, economic, social. The reason is the fact that these are interconnected and interdependent. You cannot want to move forward economically without first of all having the political base for moving forward economically, you cannot want to move forward socially without having the political and economic base to move forward socially. So if you pay attention to one while leaving the other, you will be deceiving yourself.

Nigeria President Obasanjo: in early days of NEPAD in 2002.

2
..... Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Holy Bible: Philippians 4: 19

3
Suggested Principles to guide the Structure, Organization and Content of Sub-national, National and International Development Cooperation Dialogue:-
1  1. No One Individual, Institution or Government has all the answers to all the problems.

   2. Shift away from problems and passing blame and shift towards solutions and  opportunities.

3   3. Shift away from talking and thinking and shift towards action and results.

4. Shift away from acquiring knowledge for knowledge sake and shift towards  acquiring wisdom for solution sake.
5
      5. Shift away from science advancing academic knowledge and shift towards science advancing corporate productivity.

    6. Shift away from politics of investment and shift towards politics of service

        7. Work together: Benefit together.

Knowing what we don’t want other people to do to us and Knowing what we should not do to them is what the Bible calls CONSCIENCE. The Conscience is God’s Law written in the heart and the Mind of Man - Men, Women, Youth and Children in both Developed and Developing Countries in our World today. Even if Man doesn’t have the Bible (that is Faithfuls in other Religions – Orthodox or Traditional or profess no Religion – Atheists) he / she has his / her Conscience. The Conscience is the Pagan’s substitute for the Law - the Ten Commandments in Old Testament or Golden Rule in New Testament in Christian Religion. Always remember that in God’s sight, the Conscience has Tremendous Authority. We are to obey it, if we are to make Right Choice between Work against Nature and Perish and Work with Nature and Prosper in each Community – Neighborhood to Global in our World today.

The Authority of Conscience – Our Conscience: We all Know Right from Wrong.

These 4 Quotations are Food for thought that all Instructors and Participants who accept that that this Geodesign Course Materials and Discussion Forum raise serious Natural and Unnatural Hazards and Natural and Unnatural Disasters Management Issues of serious business that deserve their serious attention.

Week 2 Lectures and Case Studies underline urgent need to address Geodesign How Questions raised in this Thread and Human Impact issues raised in this Thread. It is a puzzle that this MOOC present Geodesign in a very informative, educative and entertaining way that all Participants who speak out describe as interesting, has up till the time of this Post Instructors and Participants shy away from tackling Geodesign How Questions we have raised in our two Threads. Can anyone tell us why this is the case?

We are concerned that Instructors in a Geodesign Course teaching Change are themselves avoiding or evading tackling Change in the Two Threads. Our Study finding is that addressing real and complex Natural and Unnatural Hazards and Natural and Unnatural Disasters Management problems on the ground from Neighborhood to Global levels on Developed Countries, Developing Countries, International Institutions and University Community sides is less of Science and more of Politics; that there is enough Technology, Funding and Manpower available to the over 200 Countries in our World today, if New Sub-national, National and Institutional Order – Political and Cultural; Economic and Financial; Social and Environmental and Religious and Moral could be evolved; that the UN Security Council through the UN 69th General Assembly, September 2014, is the Starting Point and that the Instructors Team, PenState Art and Architecture Department Management and PenState University Management is a Key to ACTIVATING this Starting Point.

Nigeria President Obasanjo made a Call to a Connector who in turn made call to another Connector and this led to clear instruction that made the recently concluded Governorship elections in Osun State Nigeria Credible, Free and fair. Past Presidents / Heads of Government and Serving Presidents / Heads of Government in both Developed and Developing Countries need to make Call to Connectors if the UN 69th General Assembly is to mark turning point in Sub-national, National and International Development Cooperation.

It is pertinent to state that US Cities exceeds its bio capacity 4 times; consuming more and more diminishing resources. US Economy is unsustainable given its huge debt profile. US Contemporary Cities may look greener but they have displaced energy sources; food supplies; water sources and waste streams beyond US immediate sensate requirements and these facts are underlined by Weeks 1 and 2 Course Case Studies. Cities in other Developed Countries, Nigeria and other Developing Countries have their own similar problems, the difference is in the degree. This underlines the need for US President Obama, Nigeria President Jonathan, other serving Presidents / Heads of Government; US Past President Clinton, Nigeria Past President Obasanjo, other past Presidents / Heads of Government in US, Nigeria, G8, G20, G77, other UN Member States and remaining Countries in our World today to help make the Connections required to effectively and efficiently tackle Natural and Unnatural Hazards and Natural and Unnatural Disasters Management problems on the ground in our World today.

Can Sub-national, National and International Development Cooperation Stakeholders on Developed Countries, Developing Countries, International Institutions, University Community Sides in our World today, be in Self Denial and Self Deception and expect Sustainable Development? God Forbid. Solutions to real and Complex World Political, Economic, Social, Terrorism and related problems exist. If we fail to find these solutions, fully implement them and effectively monitor and evaluate this implementation the fault is in us and not in our Stars and of course, we all have to take responsibility and bear the consequences, ultimately catastrophic, of the choices we make and fail to make. This is Nature in ACTION.

The Main Test of Credibility of the Instructors Team, PenState Art and Architecture Department Management and PenState University Management, is How this PenState Geodesign MOOC help make these required Connections. To Pass this Credibility Test we urge Professor Kelleanne to convince the Instructors Team, who in turn convince the PenState Art and Architecture Department Management who in turn convince PenState University Management to issue a Press Release to the National and International Press endorsing Points made in this Post and attaching the Post unedited.

Final Push To Achieve MDGs And Create Sustainable Post-2015 Development Agenda 7

Today Monday 4 August, President Obama will welcome 51 Heads of State and Government and other senior leaders from across Africa to the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. The Summit, which will take place over three days, is the first such event of its kind and the largest event any U.S. President has ever held with African leaders.

It is an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen U.S. ties with Africa and highlight US commitment to addressing issues that affect US and Africa collectively.

The US has two main objectives: 1) US Leaders want African Leaders, and African Citizens, to come away with the clear message that the United States cares about the African Continent and is committed to an enduring, multifaceted and mutually beneficial partnership. 2) US Leaders also want to see the Summit lead to increased American investment on the African Continent and to more direct linkages between U.S. and African companies.

This Important Summit is coming few weeks after the UN Economic and Social Council, ECOSOC Meetings June 30 – July 11 wherein issues relating to Final Push to achieve MDG and Post 2015 Development Agenda were discussed.

International Society for Poverty Elimination, ISPE / Economic Alliance Group, EAG made spirited effort to see that good ideas and pertinent suggestions being made at the recent World Development Report, WDR 2014 Massive Open Online Course, MOOC Discussion Forum had positive influence on the ECOSOC 3 in 1 Meetings.

The Open Working Group, OWG on Sustainable Development Goals, SDG Outcome Document http://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/focussdgs.html set out 17 Goals. Many of the proposed SDGs' coincide with good ideas and pertinent suggestions set out by ISPE / EAG on this Talking Development Change Blog, WDR 2014 MOOC Discussion Forum and on NEHAP Wiki https://wikispaces.com/join/3NNFMJT

This coincidence / adoption of ISPE / EAG good ideas and pertinent suggestions by relevant authorities with responsibility for developing SDG is Step 1. Step 2 will involve Actually Building Bridge between Lessons Learning and Lessons Forgetting and Actually Building Platform for all Community – Global Network Partnerships, Coalition Partnerships and Consortium Partnerships. Step 2 underlines reasons for the US Africa Leaders Summit to come up with Practical ACTION Plan for Ending Hunger and Poverty in Nigeria, Africa, US and World. The US Africa Summit needs to speak to tackling this challenge.

It is pertinent to note that many of the SDG Goals Demand New Approach to Sub-national, National and International Development Cooperation on Developed Countries, Developing Countries, International Institutions, International Foundations, Universities and Tertiary Institutions as well as National and International Media sides.

For example SDG Goal 2.b. correct and prevent trade restrictions and distortions in world agricultural markets including by the parallel elimination of all forms of agricultural export subsidies and all export measures with equivalent effect, in accordance with the mandate of the Doha Development Round require that US and Africa face New Direction and adopt New Priorities and this call for overhaul of the entire US National Security Strategy and Foreign Aid Apparatus that are best tackled by JOINT Action from identified Sub-national, National and International Stakeholders. The US Africa Summit needs to speak to this challenge.

It is pertinent to note further that changing from MDG to SDG Post 2015 is likely to be seen by African Governments and Africa Poor Citizens as changing to a New Program. The implication is that the MDG Brand is rested and huge funds that could have been put into Sustainable Development, is now put into Building SDG Brand. This huge waste is avoidable, if this US Africa meeting could address this issue now.

It is 110 Days since Boko Haram kidnapped Chibok Girls. When Nigeria Security Force could not free the Girls, World Leaders sent World Security Force to reinforce Nigeria Security Force, but instead of achieving freedom for Chibok Girls in few days, Boko Haram has let lose vicious attacks on multiple locations in Nigeria, killing more people, destroying more property and kidnapping more women and girls.

We are very concerned that Boko Haram appears more powerful than World Security Forces. The World Leaders need to remove this Shame now. It is no longer Nigeria Leaders Shame alone. Each day our young Girls remain in Boko Haram Captivity is One day too long. A comprehensive package of military solutions reinforced by practical implementation of SGD 17 Goals catalyzed by Final Push to achieve MDG in Nigeria, Africa and World is what is needed.

This US Africa meeting need to consider approving such alternative approach. However, this approach cannot succeed if there is no reinvigorated effort towards tackling US Corruption, Nigeria Corruption, Africa Corruption and World Corruption.

It will be a Mirage seeking to tackle Boko Haram and End World Hunger and Poverty without first Taming Grand Corruption and Petty Corruption in the National and International Security System. The US Africa Summit must speak to this challenge.

The US Africa Summit presents another opportunity to rescue Nigeria from sliding into failed State by 2015. The conditions for violent take over, of government in Nigeria, are getting more favorable by the day, as Boko Haram continues to attack with impunity and Politicians seek to outdo themselves in vice. Should the inevitable occur in reality of Military Take Over, can US and other Powerful Countries in our World today have Moral Courage to chastise and sanction Nigeria for welcoming the Military again? The US Africa Summit must speak to this challenge.

New World Bank Risk Management Vision

The World Bank World Development Report, WDR 2014 Massive Online Open Course, MOOC ended 28 July 2014. I completed Individual Feedback in Closure Survey on 27 July 2014. Upon Deeper reflection, I find that low marks in some questions were due to inadequacy of questions as framed, to respond to Lanre et all unique and specific needs for participating in this course – Need for practical solutions to NRM Vision that are interconnected, interdependent and interlinked – INTEGRAL Parts of practical solutions to Final Push to achieve MDGs’ by 2015 and Post 2015 Development Agenda Vision that are INTEGRAL Parts of practical solutions to New End Hunger and Poverty, NEHAP by 2025 and 2030 in Nigeria, Africa, UK, Europe, Argentina, Latin America, US and World Vision.

The overwhelming EVIDENCE is that despite flaws, shortcomings, drawbacks and hindrances on one hand and negative / insulting comments on the other hand; this course has INDEED taken GIANT Positive Steps in the TRANSFORMATION of Sub-national, National and International Development Cooperation System in our World today on Developed Countries, Developing Countries and International Institutions / Foundations sides.

This course has Discovered Tamarattie, despite her conclusion that she has gained NOTHING from this course, her unwillingness to respond to Lanre’s direct questions on this matter, provide EVIDENCE to the contrary. The World Bank has a DUTY to Cultivate, her FULL support, as a True Development Change Champion. If the World Bank is able to do this, and I believe it is achievable should the World Bank reach out to her, she is worth Far more than Double her WEIGHT in GOLD, once she accept to serve as Change Champion in the work towards achieving NRM Vision and related Sub-national, National and International Development Cooperation Visions of each Developed Country, Developing Country, International Institution / Foundation in our World today.

Please recall the picture on Terrorism, Civil Wars and Interstate Wars Shock in Lanre’s Project. Link N9FR9XJ Wiki Join Code
this coincide with Tamarattie’s contribution – “Your Enemy is your Friend”. Acting on this in Good Faith, Attacking Anonymous became Supporter Anonymous 2. World Leaders as they FIGHT Terrorists need to LEARN from this outcome of this course.

We wish to highlight some Words of Wisdom. As we leave this course, against the background of your experience as Participant, Course Instructor, Course Staff, Course Tech Staff, Coursera Staff, Coursera Tech Staff, please REFLECT Deeply on these Words of Wisdom, and Take Positive Actions on your Assessment in your Day to Day work:-

4.     The 1st Person a Leader must Lead is himself / herself.
5.     He / She who comes to Equity must come with clean hands
6.     A Goldfish has No Hiding Place

12.                        How can you claim to LOVE God who you do not see, when you do not LOVE Man / Woman who you see.

Overall World Bank Score from Lanre: EXCELLENT

PS:
1.     Excellent start from 80%. Balance account for flaws and failures.
2.     Should World Bank admit its 20% flaws and failures and tackle these based on Deep Reflection on Words of Wisdom above, its INFLUENCE will Significantly Increase and it will be on FAST Track to achieving its Dream of World without Poverty.
3.     80% Old Normal Meaningless because it is Business as Usual
